This term our unit of inquiry is ‘Who we are’ and our key concept is ‘Farms around our community meet our needs in different ways’. We will be following different lines of inquiry to help us discover:
- How has farming equipment changed over time?
- How are we responsible for supporting our local community?
- How do farms work?
We will be basing our English lessons on ‘What the Ladybird Heard’ and ‘What the Ladybird Heard Next’ by Julia Donaldson. We will be predicting what will happen in the story from the front cover and the blurb and, by the end of the term, will have even produced our very own ‘What the Ladybird Heard Next’ stories. We will be developing our story mapping skills in order to plan a story using the key features of beginning, middle and end with relevant vocabulary. We will be developing the description in our stories to include even more description than Julia Donaldson!
