Our core texts this term are ‘The Bog Baby’ and ‘The Hueys in The New Jumper’. We will be learning the foundations of literacy and learning to discuss stories, link them to our own lives and to begin to listen to other people’s opinions and share ideas

In phonics we will be starting to learn the phonemes (single sounds) such as s, a, t, p, i and n. We will be beginning to blend simple words such as ‘it’, ‘sat’ and ‘dog’ as well as ‘tricky’ words which we cannot use our sounds for e.g. ‘I’ and ‘no’.
This term we will be taking part in daily ‘Write dance’ sessions as a class. This is an exciting music and dance approach to develop the skills needed for writing.
In Maths we will be learning to recognise numbers and count with one to one correspondence. We will also be learning to copy, continue and create our own repeating patterns. We will be learning to use positional language such as ‘on’, ‘under’, ‘next to’, ‘behind’ and ‘in front of’ and to name 2D shapes.
