The Governing Body’s key responsibilities are to:
The day to day running of the School is the responsibility of the Executive Principal and the Headteacher.
Monitoring and evaluation
The monitoring and evaluation that the Governing Body undertakes covers areas such as:
Governor training
All governors are required to complete two online training courses annually – Safeguarding and Child Protection and Channel General Awareness (Prevent). Further training is delivered at: a biennial Governor Awayday; an Annual Governor and Senior Leadership Team training session at Skinners’ Hall (organised by The Skinners’ Company) and in other sessions as required. SKPS Governors who also attend Full Governing Body meetings also receive a training session prior to each Full Governing Body meeting.
Governing Body Committees
There are four committees which meet separately – the MAT Staffing and Pay, MAT Finance and Resources, the SKA Local Governing Body and the SKPS Local governing Body. These committees allow Governors time to debate and examine key issues; they meet several times over the course of the Academy year report to the MAT Board.
