The Arensky Chamber Orchestra (ACO), one of the UK’s most dynamic young orchestras, visited Skinners’ Kent Primary School on Wednesday 1 November 2017, as part of the Orchestra’s exciting “Re:Imaginings” workshop series. This wonderful opportunity was organised and funded as part of this year's Royal Tunbridge Wells International Music Festival.
Pupils from Years 2 and 3 took part in a workshop led by ACO Director of Collaboration and specialist music educator, Eddy Hackett, , supported by two hugely talented and experienced ACO musicians (a string player and wind player). They shared with the pupils their passion for music, encouraged them to try out new skills and took them on a musical journey. The pupils had great fun guessing which theme tunes were being played on the trumpet, and they worked in groups to create their own music using percussion instruments.
